 Leaders
 Stephen and Lesley Hackney are
the leaders of Charis Life Church.
Married for 15 years, they have one
daughter, Charlotte Jane. For many
years Lesley worked as a special needs
teaching assistant in primary schools
assisting children with learning difficulties
in a one to one capacity. Today, she
is a busy wife and mum whilst working
alongside Stephen serving the church
through pastoral support and administration.\
After a time of training, Stephen worked
in churches in Birmingham and Chesterfield
before moving with Lesley to Nottingham
in September 1995. ‘Nottingham
is a great city’, writes Stephen, ‘and
our desire is to see it reached with
relevant and accessible churches that
enhance its life and create opportunities
for people to really connect with God’.
Situated in Clifton, three miles south
of the city centre, Charis Life is
emerging as an expression of the passion
at Charis to see living churches planted
throughout the city that provide gateways
for people to find Jesus Christ.
Our vision is simple, to see a gathering
of people living with purpose and meaning
and sharing a living faith in Jesus
Christ which we believe can change
lives, transform a community and touch
